CĐNVTD Úc Châu ủng hộ người dân Hồng Kông

Cộng Đồng Người Việt Tự Do Úc Châu cũng kêu gọi thế giới lên tiếng và đứng về phía của người dân Hồng Kông để tránh một cuộc đổ máu như đã xảy ra tại Thiên An Môn. Đồng thời, CĐNVTD Úc Châu cũng kêu gọi toàn thể người Việt vào ngày 1-10-2014 mặc áo vàng hay thắt nơ vàng để chứng tỏ sự đoàn kết ủng hộ người dân và những người biểu tình tại Hồng Kông.

“Thể chế cộng sản đã cướp đi tự do và dân chủ Việt Nam, vì thế chúng tôi rất đồng cảm với lập trường cương quyết của người Hồng Kông. người Hồng Kông không thể cho phép nhà cầm quyền cộng sản Bắc Kinh cướp đi quyền tự quyết của họ. Vì đó là khởi đầu để họ phải mất đi các quyền khác rồi mất đi tự do.”

Hôm nay, ngày 1 tháng 10 năm 2014, CĐNVTD Úc Châu đã gửi công bố với báo chí tại Úc về việc ủng hộ người dân Hồng Kông, như sau:

MEDIA RELEASE “VIETNAMESE COMMUNITY IN AUSTRALIA STRONGLY SUPPORTS HONG KONG PEOPLE’S DEMANDS FOR DEMOCRACY”

Mr Tri Vo, President of the Vietnamese Community in Australia on behalf of all
Vietnamese-Australians declares and calls upon Australia and the free world to stand by
the people and students of Hong Kong on their quest to protect their freedom against the
Chinese Communist Government’s decision to take away their democratic rights to
choose and elect their own territorial leader from 2017 onwards.

In the last few days, tens of thousands of Hong Kong students and people have held
peaceful civil protests to demand the Chinese Communist Government to respect Hong
Kong’s existing Basic Law which states that Hong Kong’s top leader, the Chief
executive, should eventually be chosen “by universal suffrage upon nomination by a
broadly representative nominating committee in accordance with democratic procedures”.

“Having lost our freedom and democratic rights under the Vietnamese Communist
regime, we can sympathize and understand the strong stance of the people of Hong Kong
on this matter. The Hong Kong people cannot afford to let Beijing Communist regime
take away their democratic self determination. It’s the first step towards losing all other rights and freedom”.

The Vietnamese Community in Australia calls upon the Australian Government and the
Western world to put pressure on the Chinese Government to respect and approve any
decisions made by the Hong Kong voters in accordance with the current Basic Law.

Mr Vo urges Beijing not to use force against the peaceful protestors, many of whom are
young students. He expresses serious concerns for the Hong Kong people given the brutal
records that Chinese Communist regime had on peaceful demonstrators in mainland
China such as the massacre in Tiananmen Square in 1989.

Mr Vo calls on everyone to wear yellow clothing or ribbons on 1st October 2014 to show
solidarity and support for the people of Hong Kong as the protestors there have requested
on social media.
